Born and raised in northeastern South Dakota, Travis is the youngest of three siblings. From a young age, Travis has always had lots of energy and a competitive spirit. In high school, he was in many sports, including baseball, basketball and football. After school, Travis transitioned into farming and ranching full-time but soon moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he had the opportunity to train sled dogs and work as a deckhand.
After moving back to South Dakota, his competitive side first took an interest in physique training, then endurance training with the goal of completing his first ultramarathon (100 miles) through the Black Hills. After the ultramarathon, he started working in metal fabrication as a welder. But he soon learned about CrossFit and found himself in the gym constantly training. Travis then obtained his CrossFit Level 1 Coaching Certification and has competed in many competitions, even placing in the world’s top 97th percentile in 2020.
In December 2020, Travis moved to Sioux Falls, where he currently works on additional certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and has his dream job at Frontier Fitness where he is able to help others work towards and reach their goals.
